Omnipotent…Not!
I learned something today
Life comes to you in many guises
You thrive in it and fail at times
Yet you still succumb to its decisions
I learned something today
Life can be taken for granted
I take each day foolishly
Complacent, even too proud
I learned something today
Life can be as beautiful as sunset
And terrible as a deadly assassin
I was blind, thought I was invincible
I learned something today
Life will give you chances
But it can be selfish and unforgiving
I think I had more greed than gratitude
I learned something today
Life has a design for us
A canvass of tricks and turns
I chose my colors poorly
I learned something today
Life is a teacher, a timekeeper
It taps you on the shoulder
And say, “You are not omnipotent!”
I learned something today
Life can be seen through other’s eyes
I see it more clearly now
I fell on my knees and cry
I learned something today
Life can be a battle
From a person I know
Who right now is fighting
For what dear life can offer
